Sending on Mission

The risen Jesus sent the eleven apostles into the whole world to proclaim the Good News.  “You will be my witnesses in all of Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria to the ends of the world!”  With the courage of the apostles, Saint Vincent and Saint Louise sent their daughters into the whole world from the very beginning.

After having spent preparation time in the Mission Center of the Motherhouse, five of our Sisters were sent on mission in response to the calls of the Church and of the poor.  The Ceremony was held on Thursday, May 17, Feast of the Ascension of the Lord, at Vespers during the Visitatrixes meeting.  In his homily, Fr. Patrick Griffin, Director General, called them to go with trust and hope, to serve with the spirit of God and to live in fidelity to his Word.

Called by their name, they each received a mission Cross from Sister Evelyne Franc, Superioress General.  They are:

SISTER BENEDICTA MENDONÇA from the Province of South India, sent to the Congo for the mission in Tanzania;

SISTER MAGDALENA VECINO  from the  Province of Pamplona, Espagne, to the NEAR EAST for Upper Egypt;

SISTER ALEKSANDRA DWORAK Province of Krakow Poland, sent to the CAMEROON;

SISTER AURORE FINIANOS   from Lebanon,  Province of the Near East, sent to NORTH AFRICA;

SISTER MARIA NGUYEN THI ANH  NGUYET  from the Province of  VIETNAM sent to NORTH AFRICA.

In their prayer they asked Christ for the help to always put their steps in his steps, to understand what he is saying, to live in a manner that is simple and fraternal, as prophets of hope.

They gave thanks for the formation received from the Company of the Daughters of Charity that helped them become instruments of the Kingdom.  They prayed to the Lord to “water these furrows, multiply the branches, and enlarge the family” and to keep them faithful to the heritage they have received.

We accompany them with our prayers.
