This is the day the Lord has made! Celebration of Saint Louise de Marillac in Peru

peru5[Province of Peru] On the 15th of March our Province, together with the Vincentian Family, was filled with joy in celebrating the Feast our Mother St. Louise de Marillac.  On this very special day we had the presence of Sister Maria Isabel Ruiz, Visitatrice of our Province of Our Lady of the Mission, South America, and Fr. Pedro Duarte, Provincial Director, who arrived for the Sending on Mission of two Sisters for Bolivia who finished their Seminary.

When receiving new young women who want to consecrate their lives to God and dedicate themselves entirely to the Service of Christ in persons who are poor, we can confirm, once more, that God continues calling and filling our Province with vitality.

From dawn we could feel the presence of God in the “Sending on Mission” of five Sisters: three from the Province of Peru and two for the Province of Our Lady of the Mission, who will start their journey to Bolivia for mission.

At 7:30 a.m., after the Sending on Mission celebration, we met around the altar for the Solemn Eucharist presided by our Provincial Director, Fr Ruben Borda, concelebrated by Fr Pedro Duarte. The Seminary Sisters led the music for the Eucharist.

What a great joy to see four young girls joining the Seminary, three for Postulatum and four for Pre-Postulatum. When they all begin their journey to be Daughters of Charity, we pray that they will be always faithful.

At 5:00 p.m. the Vincentian Family had an appointment with our Foundress.  The young people from the Vincentian Marian Youth Association, through a ludic presentation, did their best to animate and help us to deepen our knowledge of the spirituality of St. Louise. It was a very original and charming performance. Sister Isabel Iris Luna shared the life St. Louise with us.

At 7:00 p.m. we all participated in the Eucharist presided by Monsignor Raymundo Revoredo, C.M., who concelebrated with ten C.M. Priests; the young people and the Seminary Sisters lead the music.  After the beautiful Eucharist, all Vincentian Family branches present had a simple party.

We thank God, who made these beautiful events possible for us. Without doubt, St. Vincent and St. Louise will smile from the heavens seeing their singing, joyful daughters and sons: This is the day the Lord has made!
