[Provinces of Cali – San Vicente, Ecuador and Bogotá Venezuela – La Milagrosa] From June 18th to July 16, one Month, twelve Daughters of Charity in Initial Formation went on a pilgrimage to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal of Cali (Cauca Vally) for their preparation for Vows. An interprovincial event, we belong to the Provinces of Cali – San Vicente, Ecuador and Bogotá Venezuela – La Milagrosa. In our backpack we took the desire to continue deepening in the Doctrine of the Church and of our Holy Founders.
Our Mother, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, received us in her house, where we received a particular and happy welcome. Good beginning!
We met with Father Diego Luis Vázquez (Provincial Director). He spoke to us of moral conscience, the voice of God who speaks in the interior of each person and allows us to look for spaces of personal and community growth.
Advancing in this way of grace, we participated in the Annual Retreat preached by Father Leandro Grove who invited us to be “Merciful as the Father”; to have a heart full of mercy like Pope Francis requests to us.
Sister Gloria Cecilia Salazar (Councillor) helped us to travel with firm steps another tract of the way called “Spirit of the Company of the Daughters of Charity”. This invited us to revise, to evaluate and to deepen: Given to God to love Our Lord Jesus Christ and to serve him in the person of the poor corporally and spiritually. We thanked God for reminding us of the Genesis of Company.
With Sister Lilia García, we deepened on “The vows of the Daughter of Charity” as a donation to God for life and the sense of our annual Renovation.
“To fall in love with Jesus”. From his experience of life Father Ramiro Quintero invited us to have preference for the least in the Kingdom of God, living Jesus’ Eucharist as the only road which takes us to the Father.
We met with Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in her Sanctuary and we accompanied the pilgrims to our Mother’s feet, who every Tuesday opens her arms to welcome them. Thank you Mother to allow us to be able to participate in your Perpetual Novena.
Accompanied by Sister Idalina Caldeira and Sister Gloria Cecilia Salazar, Councillors, we visited “Our Lord of The Miracles of Buga”. There we were invited to remain in the light, to be visible signs of our Company in the world and to be merciful.
We closed the meeting with a special a walk in the park with coffee, which we enjoyed a lot! We also had an extended community night. We say goodbye one another after having lived a month of great fraternity! Thanks to Sister Gloria Maria Aguirre, to her Council, to Sister Offir and to all the Sisters of the Provincial House and of the Province of San Vicente Cali.
