Jesus said to the man with the withered hand, \u2018Get up and stand in the middle\u2019. (\u2026) Then, he said to the man, \u2018Stretch out your hand\u2019. He stretched it out and his hand was restored.<\/em><\/p>\n

Overcoming barriers together<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div><\/div>

People suffering from disabilities \u2013 blindness, deafness or paralysis \u2013 were always very close to Jesus. He welcomed them with love and helped them to assume their dignity and be respected by others as beloved children of God.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Called to serve those who are poor, the Daughters of Charity know that people with disabilities need special attention and care. They hope that their love will help them live life to the fullest.<\/p>\n

In every continent priority is given to:<\/p>\n

  • people with learning disabilities<\/li>\n
  • those with hearing impairment<\/li>\n
  • children and adults with visual impairment<\/li>\n
  • rehabilitation of people with physical and mental disabilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
