Following the unfortunate attack on the Sisters in Kolonkoura, the situation appeared dire. However, this challenge became a catalyst for constructive action. The Parish community, led by a dedicated Parish Priest, provided essential support by offering classrooms within the parish premises, allowing the school to continue functioning smoothly during the 2021 to 2023 academic years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amid significant insecurity, many families faced displacement, and the surrounding parishes, along with their catechists, turned to Nouna for refuge. In response to this influx, the Parish Priest efficiently adapted by accommodating these additional needs within the existing classrooms. With the initiative of Sr. Toyin Abegunde, DC, and the support of African Action&#8217;s &#8220;Equality from the Start&#8221; project, the construction of the nursery school building was realized, culminating in completion in July 2023. The primary school building, funded through the Missio project, began construction in July 2024 and reached completion in January 2025. The collective joy among the Sisters, children, teachers, and parents as they embraced this new beginning is a powerful testament to what can be achieved through unity and resilience.
