In Rome, days of light and fraternity: a meeting that revived hope, unity, and missionary impetus

28/12/2025

From December 5 to 7, 2025, Casa Maria Immacolata in Rome was transformed into a place of encounter, listening, and renewed fraternity. Sister Servants and community leaders from across the Province of San Vincenzo–Italia arrived with the desire to come together and share their path. The three days of formation, centred on the specific theme “Hope Does Not Disappoint,” were intense and marked by an atmosphere of joy, deep spirituality, and enthusiasm.

The fraternal presence of Sister Françoise Petit, Superior General, and Sister Luisa Farri, General Councillor, gave a special warmth to the entire session. Sister Maria Rosaria, the Visitatrix, expressed her gratitude for their presence and stated that the meeting is a time of grace, a time to rediscover the beauty of belonging to the Company. The closeness of Sister Françoise and Sister Luisa—expressed through attentive listening, smiles, and thoughtful words—made everyone feel deeply valued.

Sister Maria Rosaria presented the reality of the Province to Sister Françoise through four words: listening, welcoming, caring, and accompanying— which are the heart of our present and the direction of the future.

Sister Françoise’s speech was one of the most anticipated steps. With the delicacy of a sister and the solidity of a guide, he spoke to us of “creative fidelity” and “missionary impetus”. Her words ignited a new enthusiasm.

She reminded us that hope does not come from standing still, but from allowing ourselves to be moved by the Spirit. She showed us three ways to feed it:

  • trusting in God who keeps calling;
  • loving the world as it is;
  • witnessing fraternity as a space of mercy and tenderness.

Jesus is the true master of the mission and a source of hope, even in difficult times. Looking to Christ gives us courage and confidence to overcome trials, turning difficulties into opportunities for growth. Living the mission with Jesus means being guided by his example and facing the future with hope, certain of His presence.

We are light to the world when we testify to God with concrete gestures of charity. Welcoming the hope that comes from Christ opens us to the spirit, pushes us out of our comfort zone, and motivates us to renew our commitment to community and mission.

At the end of her speech, Sister Françoise reminded us once again:

«I am convinced that you all carry within you this fire of charity. You have the desire to move forward together and with the world, to make possible a fraternity that reveals the tenderness of God.»

These three days were not only a formation meeting but also an experience of authentic fraternity, a time of grace, an invitation to walk together with courage and creativity.

We set off again with our burning hearts and our eyes turned to the future. Each one of us is called to be light, to bring hope and charity wherever we are, without fear of facing new challenges. Together, we can turn every difficulty into an opportunity and every encounter into a chance for growth. We are a community that is alive, capable of renewal and witnessing God’s tenderness in the world. Our journey continues: with courage, creativity, and faith, we will be ARTISANS OF PEACE AND HOPE for those who meet us every day.
