From Sunday 28 December 2025 to Thursday 1 January 2026, the 48th Taizé European Meeting was held in Paris and the Île-de-France region, on the theme “What are you looking for? For the occasion, 15,000 young people from different countries travelled to various locations in the Paris region to experience moments of prayer and fellowship.
During these days, the young people were welcomed into families or parishes. They received many messages of support, beginning with Pope Leo XIV, who encouraged them to deepen their faith by discerning more and more how to live the Gospel in the concrete realities of their lives. For his part, Brother Matthew, prior of Taizé, invited the young people to seek silence, direction, joy, meaning, a more just world, community and peace.
The Mother House of the Daughters of Charity also participated in this event by welcoming more than 90 young people from Italy, Spain and Poland, accompanied by Sisters from their respective countries. They were offered ‘Vincentian moments’: a meeting and exchange with Sister Françoise Petit, Superioress General, a prayer vigil at the Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, a visit to the Archives and Vincentian sites, time for sharing in groups, etc.
The meeting was marked by the joy and enthusiasm of the young people, as well as their seriousness in their search for truth, meaning in life, and faith.
