As Daughters of Charity from the Province of Slovenia and the Region of Albania, we have embraced the Society’s call to establish a new provincial structure in our countries, with hope and fidelity to God’s will. For this reason, we have chosen the motto for this occasion: “Let us walk together in hope.”
Our logo depicts a group of Sisters walking toward the cross, in communion with Mary. This path does not end at the cross but leads to eternity and the resurrection of Christ. Surrounding the logo is the motto written in the four languages spoken in our countries. Thus, on July 18, 2025, the new Province of Saint Catherine Labouré – Southeast Europe was born.

We were especially blessed to have our Superior General, Sister Françoise Petit, with us. She generously spent nearly a week of her precious time accompanying us. The Superior General of the Congregation of the Mission, Father Tomaž Mavrič, also honored us with his presence at the ceremony. The closeness and support of Sister Hanna Cybula, General Councillor for the Slavic Provinces, were deeply comforting.

Our joy was further enriched by the presence of several missionary Sisters who proclaim Christ in various countries and serve our poorest brothers and sisters. The Daughters of Charity from the Provinces of Slovakia and Graz–Central Europe also supported us with their presence and prayers.
We were delighted to welcome a large number of Lazarists, Sisters from different congregations, affiliates, collaborators, and friends of the Daughters of Charity. Members of various branches of the Vincentian Family from Slovenia and beyond, along with many other guests, were also present.

Sister Françoise presented the official decree, accompanied by a heartfelt speech of encouragement, to the new Visitatrix, Sister Marta Rauh, and to the five Councillors: Sister Bernarda Trček, Sister Elizabetë Saliqunaj, Sister Tereze Prekaj, Sister Vlasta Tacer, and Sister Ljubica Jozić Jun.
Father Tomaž Mavrič then addressed the assembly and read the letter of appointment for the new Provincial Director, Father Stanko Gerjolj, and the Assistant Director, Father Luigi Cannato.

The highlight of our celebration was the Eucharistic celebration, presided over by Father Tomaž Mavrič and concelebrated by numerous Lazarists and other priests.

In the afternoon, we enjoyed a rich program of presentations on the history of the Slovenian Province and the Albanian Region, as well as their current ministries. Families, individuals, various groups, and Sisters expressed themselves through song, dance, drama, pantomime, images, and music.

We thank God for all the graces and experiences we received on this blessed day.
Sister Ljubica Jozić Jun.
