Music is a medium that connects everyone. It was in this light that the concept of Able: The Musicalwas conceived. It was a Concert for a Cause with the aim of raising funds for the Our Lady of Victory (OLV) Center where differently-abled persons are housed when they come to the city for hospitalization, surgery, re-education, formation, rest, etc.
The concert spoke of the journey of embracing oneself towards becoming the person one wanted to be. The concert featured differently-abled persons, OLV Personnel, friends and volunteer musicians.
The repertoire featured famous movie theme songs that are inspirational and related to the lives of the differently-abled persons who are currently residing in OLV. The highlight of the concert was the recognition of the OLV Alumni whose achievements in life is a living legacy of the late Sr. Cecilia WOOD, MM, founder of OLV.
The differently-abled persons, mostly wheelchair bound, performed a moving rendition of JOYFUL, JOYFUL from the movie Sister Act. Sr. Maria Glenda JAVA, DC, herself a musician, was at the helm of this musical.
Once DISABLED, were ENABLED and are now ABLE!
