The Superioress General Visits the Warsaw Province

13/05/2026

On April 12 of this year, on the Feast of Divine Mercy, Sister Françoise Petit, the Superioress General, along with Sister Hanna Cybula, General Councillor, arrived at the Warsaw Province of the Daughters of Charity from the Motherhouse in Paris, the cradle of the Congregation.

The Sisters received a warm welcome, featuring a bouquet of white and red flowers from the Sisters of the Provincial House, and the Servant Sisters gathered for a formation session. Together, they sang “Welcome, Alleluia!” as everyone proceeded to the chapel. There, Sister Agnieszka Szerewicz, the Provincial Visitatrix, greeted the Superioress General and the Councillor with a few words of welcome.

In the evening, a gathering was held in the Chapter Hall, where the Superioress General and Sister Councillor had the opportunity to get to know each Sister more closely. The meeting was imbued with an atmosphere of joy and closeness in the Vincentian charism.

Over the following days, the Superioress General and the accompanying Sisters travelled to three communities in Belarus (Brest, Minsk, and Shumilino) belonging to the Warsaw Province. There, they were warmly welcomed by the Sisters, as well as by the children, young people, families, and those in need whom the Sisters serve daily.

Additionally, they visited communities in Poland (Łbiska, Konstancin, Ostrołęka, Obryte, Przasnysz, and the Holy Crossparish). Throughout the visit, everyone was filled with joy and enthusiasm at the arrival of such distinguished guests.

In the person of the Superioress General, it was as if the Foundress of the Congregation, St. Louise de Marillac - whose successor each Superioress General is - had come to the Province. We rejoice in our meeting and entrust to God the fruits of this visit, which concluded on April 23.
