A formation session for the Daughters of Charity from 26 to 40 years of vocation occurred on September 20-22 at the Provincial House in Warsaw, Poland.

The session theme was: “Relationships as God’s Gift.” Two Sisters from the Congregation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Sacré Coeur led Saturday’s meetings, introducing the participants to the topic. Until noon, Sr. Jolanta spoke about the stages of adult life and their importance in everyone’s life. In the afternoon, Sr. Joan touched on a key topic in human relations: forgiveness and reconciliation. Each of the issues presented not only helped the audience deepen their understanding of relationships, especially within the community but also encouraged them to consider practical applications in their lives.

The second theme of the session was “gratitude,” which Sister Agnes, Visitatrix, leaned on and to which she devoted the time of the meeting with the Sisters. Gratitude to God for the gift of vocation, gratitude to fellow Sisters, and every person encountered. On the other hand, the Director of the Warsaw Province of the Daughters of Charity, Fr. Karol, leaned into the theme of vocation and the expectations of the modern world for the called ones during the Sunday meeting.

The theme of gratitude was summarized at Mass and carried in the altar gift of a basket of red roses and inscribed “gratitude cards” embedded in the basket. After the Eucharist and the meeting with Sr. Agnes, all the Sisters participating in the session visited their senior Sisters in vocation, expressing gratitude to them for their love for God and the charism, and their faithfulness in their vocation. The entire meeting ended with a common prayer in the chapel and a blessing with the Blessed Sacrament and lunch.

We thank God for the continued formation of our personal relationship with Him, for the wonderful gift of meeting in the community during these days and for the gift of belonging to the Company of the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul.
