Pastoral

Go into all the world and proclaim the Good News to all creation..

(Mk 16:15)

Sharing
the love of God

St. Louise de Marillac said that the Daughters of Charity are daughters of the Church, therefore they must live and act as daughters of that Mother. From the beginning, one of the concerns of our Foundress was the Christian formation of young people.

She taught the Sisters to organize groups of girls and young women in the parishes to teach them catechism. St. Vincent was also very attentive to the needs of the local Church and often sent his daughters to collaborate in the parishes.

Following in the footsteps of its Founders, the Society collaborates with the Church in its specific mission of proclaiming the Gospel and in catechetical instruction. Jesus, Adorer of the Father, Servant of His Plan of Love, Evangelizer of the poor is the center and point of reference for our Pastoral service.

To carry out this mission we serve in:

  • Parishes, including: catechesis, Christian Initiation and adult preparation programs, preparation for the sacraments, liturgy, accompaniment of families in times of grief, coordination or support in parishes that do not have a resident priest, and home visits, especially to people who cannot leave their homes.
  • Visiting the sick in hospitals and the elderly in nursing homes
  • School and youth ministry in a variety of situations
  • Accompaniment of people who are “on the margins” of society, in prisons, in gypsy and transient communities, Fourth World migrants and those abused by tourism
  • Spiritual accompaniment to various groups and movements in the Church including Vincentian Family groups (AIC, St. Vincent de Paul Conferences, Vincentian Marian Youth, etc.).
