Revealing God's love

As Daughters of Charity, we identify ourselves as part of the Church, as St. Louise urges us, who encourages us to live as the daughters of a mother who loves us.

From the beginning, the Christian formation of young girls was a priority for St. Louise. She prepared the first Sisters to teach catechism to children and young girls. St. Vincent was also attentive to the needs of the parishes, sending Sisters to serve the poor.

Following in the footsteps of our Founders, we participate in the specific mission of the Church: to proclaim the Good News of the Gospel, especially among the most disadvantaged.

In our pastoral work, we strive to follow Jesus, worshipper of the Father, servant of his plan of love and evangelizer of the poor.

Our mission encompasses:

  • Parish ministry:
    • catechesis, development of formation programs, preparation for the sacraments and liturgical animation
    • home visits, support to bereaved families and coordination of activities in parishes without a resident priest, among others.
  • Chaplaincy service:
    • in hospitals, nursing homes and educational centers
    • with marginalized people, such as the incarcerated, migrants, refugees, and victims of abuse and exploitation
  • Spiritual accompaniment of various groups and movements of the Church and the Vincentian Family, such as the International Association of Charities (AIC), the Conferences of St. Vincent de Paul and Vincentian Marian Youth (VMY), among others.
