Persons with disabilities

… Jesus said to the man with the paralyzed hand, “Stand here in the center.” … And he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was healed.

(Mk 3:3, 5)

Overcoming obstacles together

Jesus lovingly welcomed people with disabilities. He was close to them, helping them to regain their dignity. He encouraged others to respect and love them because they are God’s children.

We know that people with disabilities need special care and, above all, respectful attention. We believe that love and support are essential if they and their families are to enjoy a fulfilling life.

On every continent, priority is given to:

  • those who have mental and physical disabilities
  • people with hearing impairments
  • children and adults who are visually impaired
  • the rehabilitation of persons with physical and mental disabilities, in accordance with national legislation.
