Elderly people

So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to all the generations to come, your power.

(Ps 71:18)

Weaving intergenerational ties

In the Bible, elders are a symbol of wisdom and a sign of God’s blessing. Today, in some societies, they can be rejected and abandoned, even by their families. At the end of a long and fruitful life, many of them grow old alone, without friends, in poor health and with insufficient income to meet basic needs. Moreover, they often have difficulty getting around and can no longer participate in social and church life.

Inspired by our Founders, we respect the dignity and wisdom of elders and offer them support and a listening heart that reveals God’s tenderness.

We reach out to them in their homes, in care facilities and in parishes.
